As an energy service provider, DB Energie is committed to keeping things moving. A new base software is enabling the energy experts to advance their engineering service customer projects rapidly, all around Germany.
DB Energie GmbH is not only a grid operator, but also Germany's fifth-largest energy supply company, and a service provider. It specializes particularly in engineering services: "It is key to our success in acting as a partner to our customers that we can provide them with expert know-how and advice all from a single source. That is the only way to win and retain customers nowadays," explains Carsten Eisert, technical consultant with DB Energie and project manager.

The aim of the reorganization was to create a new knowledge structure within which the staff at over 40 locations have transparent, centralized access to all customer and project related information. When looking for a multi-talented allrounder, the project team discovered CAS genesisWorld.
Implementation to schedule
In order to engage their colleagues with the new base software, Carsten Eisert and the xRM project team launched an information campaign featuring local events, video tutorials and a dedicated information brochure, thus ensuring that all the teams were onboard right from the beginning. As a result, over 100 of the 220 Engineering Services staff are already using CAS genesisWorld as their base software at 42 locations, across a shared network. As well as adding many new features, the existing order book has been digitized. "The challenge was to make something that was already good even better," Eisert comments. "The new depth of detailing means we can compile quotes at the click of a mouse, and generate them easily." This is a major advantage.
Smart quote generation
Project managers and customers can identify the time and resources allotted to each service item in the quote and check the data based on KPIs, thus saving a great deal of time.
The conclusion: a future-proof solution Thanks to the virtualized customer and project files, all quotes are stored in the system and securely archived. "By implementing CAS genesisWorld as its new base software, the division has made itself fit for the future," asserts Patricia Schaller, Head of Acquisition for Engineering Services. Further development stages and new application areas are already being implemented.
